Loopah Provides Innovative Fundraising Platform

SANDPOINT — Taking fundraising from bake sales to positive purpose campaigns and online malls, Loopah supports nonprofit organizations, schools, and other entities with their financial needs through an innovative approach.

Founded by CEO Steve Russo in 2009, Loopah originated when Russo recognized a clear need for innovative fundraising methods after observations as a board member for nonprofit organizations. An online method to raise funds utilizing Positive Purpose Campaigns resulted.

The campaigns gain supporters for a cause through a safe donation platform on the organization’s website.

For example, a sponsor may donate $1 for every hour of reading or $2 for every hour of volunteer work performed; and Loopah provides the platform where donations are collected, tasks tracked, and family and friends can connect in a safe online environment.

Additionally, through partnering with E-Bates, Loopah provides a Loopah Mall. Supporters enter the mall through their own website, where they have access to more than 1,200 online retailers.

Each purchase made through the Loopah Mall earns up to 26 percent cash back for the organization.

With the online platform, Loopah also builds user-friendly websites, and the first 100 nonprofit organization who sign-up will receive a free website.

The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce congratulates Loopah and welcomes them to the business community.

Loopah Offers New Approach to Fundraising
By Kelly Wentz
For the Bee

Loopah, Inc. has settled into its home of Sandpoint, Idaho, and is ready to open its virtual doors. A locally owned small business, Loopah provides a safe, efficient and convenient online alternative to traditional, fundraising methods for schools and organizations.

Leaving behind outdated and labor intense methods of fundraising such as wrapping paper or coupon book sales, Loopah adds a new, intriguing twist by helping students and organizations earn money through educational activities and community involvement.

Steve Russo, founder and CEO of Loopah, Inc., recognized the need for a new fundraising method while serving on the Board of Directors for the Sandpoint Christian School. Witnessing parent and volunteer burnout, the hassles of door-to-door selling plus the disappointing low profit margins connected with traditional fundraising campaigns, Russo was inspired to develop a modern, fun and convenient way to bring students and the community together for a mutual purpose.

According to Russo, “Loopah fills a need that truly exists; fundraising through student achievement and accountability.” With a strong commitment to fostering community involvement, Loopah will serve both private and public schools as well as organizations such as youth sports groups, church groups and missions. Through sponsorship from friends and family members, participants will earn money for completing certain tasks such as volunteering or reading during an allotted campaign.

Fundraising campaigns through Loopah are as easy as logging onto the Internet and updating a profile page; something of which many kids are already familiar thanks to the popularity of Facebook and MySpace. In contrast to other social networking structures, Loopah provides a fundraising application that offers additional features which promote open communication with the school, organization, sponsors and local partnerships.

Conscious of the many concerns for child safety in the virtual world, Loopah meets the provisions of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (“COPPA.”) “We provide a secure website for any student organization to track progress during a fundraising campaign,” says Russo.
